Dr. James W. Cahill is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and reconstruction, with a private practice affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. With over twenty years in practice, he serves as Director of Sports Medicine at St. Peter’s University and is a founding member of the Center for Joint Replacement at Hackensack. He routinely performs arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee, with particular interests in joint replacements, ligament repair, and the treatment of cartilage injuries. A recognized Castle Connolly and Inside Jersey Top Doctor, he trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed fellowships at The Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Cahill favors a non-operative approach whenever possible, turning to advanced reconstructive techniques when surgery is necessary to return patients to full activity.
